Dwiane is continuing status quo today. Yesterday they took him off - TopicsExpress

Dwiane is continuing status quo today. Yesterday they took him off of the paralytic medication for a few hours, and I saw my baby move and his eyes open for the first time in two days! Then I breathed for what felt like the first time in two days. He went back on the medication around 1 this morning, because his lungs were working too hard, but hes off it again now for a while, so well see. Still working through the virus and looking at a long recovery, but Ill take it, just so long as hes out of danger. Thank you all again for all of your prayers and well-wishes. So many of you have kindly asked if there is anything you can do. Kirk and I cherish every text and FB message and email. We would also encourage you to find out about your local Ronald McDonald House, and support this amazing ministry/non-profit in any way that are able and moved to do so. We have a room there for the week, and it is such a blessing. Staying there has also really opened my eyes about all of the wonderful ways in which it blesses families - close inexpensive place to stay and meals, yes, but also family rooms and game rooms and libraries and events (like a visit from the Chicago Bulls!), and so many ways to care for the siblings of patients as well as their parents, all while making it possible for parents to stay close to all of their children during a difficult time. If you go to their website, you can find a wish list of ideas for making non-cash donations. Or volunteer, or get a group together to sponsor and serve a meal, or just get to know the place and take a tour. Thanks again, all of you. Well keep you posted.
