Dysfunction in your CORE can lead to compensation patterns that your body will turn to in order to create that feeling of stability and to achieve movement. One of those patterns is spinal compression. Over time this compensation pattern can lead to low back pain and possible radicular symptoms. This condition is many times treated using a decompression/traction table. Although a great treatment option, traction alone is not going to alleviate the problem. If the core dysfunction is not addressed, your body will revert back to spinal compression for stability as soon as you walk out of the office. If you are experiencing similar symptoms, seek out a physician or therapist that is knowledgeable in the evaluation and treatment of such dysfunctions that can work with you or co-manage your care. Take control of your health!
