To - Participating Teams for the 2013 season - Interested Teams of the 2014 season European Club Team Competition Season 2014 EFL & EFAF CUP Dear friends of sport! After intense consultation with the newly established EFAF Club Team Competitions Advisory Board the EFAF Board of Directors is now able to inform you about the current plans for the 2014 season. The Board of Directors decided on July 6th 2013 to have a Club Team Advisory Board installed. Clubs throughout Europe are the base of the European American Football community. Primary goals shall be: Promoting the sporting competition among the clubs; Supporting the various on-site activities performed by the clubs and their members; Sharing the experience gathered in running club operations with the EFAF Board of Directors; The Club Team Advisory Board will: Represent European American football clubs as a whole; Be a permanent establishment; Composed of the presidents or other leading representatives of the most-profiled European American football clubs. The updated concept is based on four levels of competitions: EFL Elite EFL EFAF Cup Regional Cups Financial Requirements: Entry Fee: zero entry fee Deposit: EFL Elite 7.000 EUR, EFL 3.500 EUR, EFAF Cup 1.750 EUR Sanction fee of finals belongs to EFAF/ Rights owner (EUROBOWL 10.000 EUR, EFL Bowl 5.000 EUR, EFAF Cup 2.500 EUR) If additional money is raised through the finals, the amount is shared with the teams participating in the specific competitions. Officiating Officiating allocation stays as it was. Travel Compensation Travel compensation rules stays as it was. Marketing: EFAF will sign a marketing agreement with a promoter and allocate travel support to teams in EFL and EFAF Cup (not EFL Elite). Target: 1.000 EUR per EFL club and 500 EUR per EFAF Cup club per season. EFAF will sign agreement with AFVD about the trademark rights EUROBOWL and EFL for the 2014 season. EFL Elite (working title) Six teams Two group with three teams in each group Competition system: single round robin with one home and one away game After group phase group direct qualification for EUROBOWL for group winners Qualifications: Semi-finalists of 2013 season (Vienna, Innsbruck, Calanda and Berlin) plus two wildcards (e. g. German Champion) Teams remain in league unless they have been relegated from the league by losing the relegation game versus challenger from EFL or withdrawal Relegation: the team ranked at the last place might have to play a relegation game versus the winner of the EFL EFAF recognized completion with own management EFL: Competition for national champions of leagues who have not qualified for EFL Elite and for additional teams of countries who have teams in the EFL Elite Regional group setting Champion is crowned in a Bowl game („EFL Bowl“) Champion has the right to challenge the last ranked team of EFL Elite in a relegation game EFAF Cup: Competition for national champions of leagues who have not qualified for EFL and for additional teams of countries who have teams in the EFL or for additional leading teams from national leagues Regional group setting Semi Finals are played Champion is crowned in a Bowl game („EFAF Cup Final“) Regional Cups Atlantic Cup Nordic Cup Eastern Cup Challenge Cup All plans are subject of the final number of entries. Since entry deadline is October 31, 2013 the group setting and schedule will be defined hopefully shortly after the deadline. Blocked Game Days for European Club Team Competitions (subject of change): April 19/ 20, 2014 May 4/ 5, 2014 May 17/ 18, 2014 June 15/ 15, 2014 July 19/ 20, 2014 EUROBOWL July 19/ 20, 2014 Other Competitions: May 29-June 8, 2014: EFAF European Championships Austria (A-Group) June 12-July 13, 2014: FIFA World Cup Brazil We kindly ask everybody interested to participate to send a short notification to [email protected] latest until October 25, 2013. That notification should include the information for which level (besides regional cups) your club is interested to participate and if you have any pre-requirements that restrict the participation of your team for any reason we should know. The notification is not legal binding. EFAF will send you then the legal binding entry form as well as the tournament regulations. The entry deadline for a legal binding is October 31, 2013. Please note that all entries are subject to confirmation. We will circulate to those teams interested a more in depth presentation regarding the updated concept.
