E-BOOKS MADE EASY ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In addition to e-journals, the UF Libraries are providing access to a rapidly increasing number of e-books. In most cases these are for viewing on a regular computer screen, and require no special devices or software. To locate e-books... (a) search the UF catalog, as you normally would and you will be directed to e-versions of books if available, or to print, or to both. Limiting ones search to online resources can eliminate most print books. -OR- (b) search directly in the website of a specific e-book provider while on campus or connected to the campus network via the UF Proxy. Of course, this will lead only to titles offered by a given provider, so the catalog may still be the best way to draw from a variety of sources. One major provider for UF is MyiLibrary, which carries titles from some of the leading US and British academic presses. A recent sample of titles and publishers includes... University and non-profit institutional presses use e-books as a way to make out-of-print titles available freely to users, and in some cases we have added records to the catalog to show this.
