E-Mails From The Grave A very good friend of mine died a few months ago & I was contacted by a mutual friend who let me know about it. I searched his name in the local paper where he lived & found a death notice & I was saddened by the fact that no one even bothered to write him a proper obituary. He was an extraordinary person & a good friend. So imagine my surprise when I received this e-mail from him!!! All our money, phones and credit cards was stolen away including some valuable items, It was a terrible experience but the good thing is that they didnt hurt anyone or made away with our passports. We have reported the incident to the local authorities and the consulate but their response was too casual, we were ask to come back in 2 weeks time for investigations to be made proper,But the truth is we cant wait till then as we have just got our return flight booked and is leaving in few hours from now but presently having problems sorting out our bills here and also getting a cab down to the airport, Right now were financially strapped due to the unexpected robbery attack, Wondering if you can help us with a quick loan to sort out our bills and get back home. All we need is (2,000 dollar), am assuring you that i will refund your money back to you once am back home hopefully tomorrow , the fastest and safest means of getting the money to me now is via western union money Transfer. I will have to show my valid passport as an identification to pick up funds here.Hope to read from you soon. Robert, There is NO LIMIT to the depths the scumbag online scammers will go to in order to try & find gullible people to prey upon. And as STUPID, CHILDISH & IDIOTIC as their attempts may be...they actually DO find people who are gullible & kindhearted enough to fall victim to their scams. Unfortunately its usually elderly people who are not internet savvy & havent been shown how to avoid being scammed. Fortunately, an entire sport has grown up online in response to these scammers. Many of us now derive sadistic pleasure from tormenting & frustrating these scammers by making them waste their time with US rather than others who are gullible enough to fall for their scams. The more of their time WE waste, the less they have to rip off anyone else. ;)
