E-votion August 27 Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring (King James Version). Scholars have the audacity to attack Pauls sermon here because they say he didnt convince many of their need for Christ. The quality of a message is never determined by how many people believe you. The quality is determined by how much truth is in what you say! This is a wonderful verse because it tells us just how vital a connection we have with God . In Him we live (soul), move (body), and have our being (spirit). Christ is intricately connected with every aspect of person-hood. When you see the word offspring in this verse, your mind should be drawn to the blessing of having His divine nature in the new birth. There is a sense that all humanity is His offspring, but it takes on a unique and special significance when you have been born again into the new offspring. Since God decided to include this sermon in the inspired writings controlled by the Holy Spirit, small minded scholars should submit to His wisdom. Dont let anyone deceive you into thinking they know Gods plan for you better than you do. Be secure in yourself and your calling because Gods opinion is the only one you will account for.
