EA Sports just came out with their top 50 player ratings, its creating lots of debate. I know that overall ratings are an average of every category combined together, but im still gonna share my thoughts, surprises and deceptions... #42 - Semeyon Varlamov (89): no offense, but I think he is rated a lil too high, would have given him an 87. #34 - Patrick Kane (89): Sorry, I know its overall and that Kane is not a physical player, but his overall should be at least 91... #33 - Ryan Kessler (90): Are you kidding me ??? 87, maybe 88 max !!! #24 - Claude Giroux (90): I dont get this one, he should be at 92, its a bit like Kane, hes not physical but has grit, and physical cant affect your overall that much as an offesive player... #22 - Marian Hossa (91): I agree to disagree, give Kane a 91 and Hossa a 90, ill be fine with that, yes Hossa is a very skilled player, but I think that overall, Kane is better, but that is my opinion... #20 - Zdeno Chara (91): He should be no higher than an 89, hes getting old, hes shown in the 2 past years that he gets vulnerable as the team moves deeper into the playoffs, his endurance being at 90 is a joke !!! Drop that to 85 and he is at best a 90 overall player. His best days are behind him thats for sure, his playing time should drop this season, but all of that depends on Claude Julien... #17 - John Tavares (91): This does not make any sense, he makes players around him better !!! He played with a team that had no depth last season, and yes he was injured, but I still think he is an elite player, top 5 forwards in the NHL !!! He deserves at least a 93. #8 - Jonatahn Quick (93): Ill admit, he is clutch and good, but so is the rest of the Kings organisation, I think he is over rated. Id give him a 90, no more... #1 - Sidney Crosby (96): Ok, lets get one thing straight, HE IS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD. People are debating between Crosby and Toews, but here are some facts: Chicago is a better team than Pittsburgh and has more depth, Crosby was injured in the last playoffs, reason why he didnt produce many points, the only thing I question Crosby for sometimes is his leadership... Honestly, Crosby deserves a higher overall rating than Toews, but not a 96, id give him a 94. Not on the list: Tyler Seguin - How the hell can you not put Seguin on this list, if Benn is a 90, the Seguin surely is a 89 or 90, this is mind boggling !!!
