EARLY REPORT FROM BELTRAMI COUNTY The house was packed on the pro-vape side today! Pete Lamkin, Jim Ranes and Danielle Clark from the MNVA all traveled the 250 mile journey for one night to fight a senseless ordinance in Beltrami (Bemidji), MN that will ban the use of e-cigs anywhere smoking is prohibited and potentially ban even the sampling of 0 nicotine liquid in the vape store(s). Also fighting for our rights were Matt Bewley, owner of Northern Vapes, Jodi Schmidt, a local long time vaper and Dan Rekuski, a BSU Student Senator (non vaper/smoker), along with many others who shared their stories of successfully beating one of the meanest habits on earth. Their opposition from the ALA, ACS and pharmaceutical pushers created a David vs. Goliath atmosphere. These well formed, well paid members seem to show up anywhere opposition strikes. While not as many of these members spoke this evening, each member was seemingly given more time to speak than those advocating for their own lives. No votes were received from Jim Lucachick and Tim Sumner. Possible sway votes will come from Jack Frost or Joe Vene in two weeks, leaving Richard Anderson as a definite YES.
