EARNEST NURSERY AND PRIMARY SCHOOL TEL: +256788 631248 /+256 [0]2026379216 SCHOOL FOR ORPHANS, KAMPALA UGANDA EMAIL: earnestschool@yahoo web.Earnestschool.webs Earnest school for orphans has been struggling to take care of 100 children and currently the number has increased to 500. I have some how managed to start up a nursery and primary school on a 52 x 120 feet plot of land with classes from nursery to Primary seven. The children do music, dance and drama to raise money to support the school. However, the condition of the structures is not good. We are currently in need of materials, professional volunteers in support of the school. The school is located on Zzimwe Rd, off Muyenga road, break off Taycondo before Diamond Suites Hotel. BACK GORDON Earnest Nursery and Primary school for orphans was formed in 2010 by Wafula Ivan IN Kisugu Makindye division to aid /support to vulnerable children who have social economic difficulties in their families to have better living standards of living as well as giving moral Support to cope with the prevailing situation in Uganda and Africa as a whole .Due to increased rate of divorce, death as a result of HIV/AIDS and poor health services, children suffer most psychologically ,socially and economically, they end up dropping out of school and street life is the result. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES To support children with HIV/AIDS and be responsible people in future when they grow up realizing their full potential. To enable children meet their basic needs in life through equipping them with practical skills so that they can start up income generating projects Empower women through training on lively hood skills to earn a living. To work with NGO’S interested in improving people’s standards of living . HOW WE GET ORPHANS Children qualify to be at Earnest Nursery and Primary school for orphans if they meet the following requirements [i]Death certificate fort the mother or father [ii]Local council letter confirming that death . [iii]Those brought by the authorities as orphans or street children HOW WE GENERATE MONEY THAT HAS PERT US RUNNING Through fund raising projects in churches supermarkets. Through small scholastic material and out frown various individuals and organization PROBLEMS FACED BY THE PROJECT Lack of permanent structures Lack of enough findings Lack of enough furniture such as pupils desks and teacher’s table and seats In adequate water supply SCHOOL ACTIVITIES Educational services based on the Uganda curriculum. Sports activities most especially in rugby and foot ball where the school has become a power horse in the community . Art and craft like making of bungles, earrings ,etc . out of pupils that are sold to raise income. ACHIEVEMENTS We successfully organized a widow’s tailoring course which attracted a number of over of women from the community who were equipped will life and income generating skills in tailoring . Being an an actively sporting school we managed to represent Uganda in number of international tag rugby tournaments and emerged victorious. Organized successful celebrations of the world AIDS day where we were joined by the area MP and Makindye Deputy Mayor in creating public awareness of the dangers of HIV/AIDS virus.
