Linda -Rock Creek Marina 1-406-...485-2560 “Linda said, “We had a wild week with the Walleyes Unlimited tournament. We had 65 teams. The first place winners were Norm Sillerud and Jr Rasmusan of Glasgow with a whopping total of 88.96 pounds of walleye for both days. 2nd place was won by Kris Keller and Charlie Redfield with a weight of 72.6 pounds of walleye. Someone caught a 6 pound 2 ounces walleye. Gary and Taylor from Lambert caught a 43 inch northern pike for the largest pike. They were using jigging mainly. From what I see they were using local Kips Tackle fire taggers glass minnows series in 1/4 oz, 1/2 oz, and 3/8 oz. It was a great weekend!” Tongue River Reservoir- Bob Peterson Tongue River Marina 1-406-757-2225 Colton “We had a fair amount of wind but people were still out. Lots of walleye caught. Darker colors are really working. They are using jigs and leeches. One group caught 50 mostly 2 to 3 pounders, ”Colton says. Some small mouth eaters are also being caught. Clint Thomas- Hell Creek Marina 1-406- 557-2345 Hell Creek-Fort Peck Reservoir “We got 1 inch of rain last night. The bite has been slowing down but one group got 50 fish, mostly 1 pounders with a few 3 pounders. We need some sunshine. We have had 6 inches of moisture lately. It has been real good towards Crooked Creek Bay and Hill Couley. Walleyes are being caught east of us. With the wind and the rain Northern pike and bass are being caught with cranks at 12 to 14 feet especially at the mouth of Crooked Creek. Saw some real nice bass from there,“ Clint said. Gene Moore Lake Ridge Motel 1-406-526-3597 Gene Moore, of Lake Ridge says,” Nice fishing is going on right now. They are catching nice walleye out of the dry arm. Walleye fishermen are using smelt and a minnow. Lake trout are being caught at a depth of 50 to 60 feet with an evil eye flutter. Lindy’s are also working. We got 5 inches of rain in the last 5 days. The Rock Creek tournament is big news. Eighty pounds of fish won with several big weight fish. Everyone caught fish and that doesn’t happen often. They used jigs and minows and lindys and minnows. Hacksbee point and Bear Creek are where people are using spoons with success. ” Lake Elmo Billings According to FWP a big muskey at 38 inches was caught this week at Lake Elmo and put back. So he is waiting for someone else to catch him. Cooney Reservoir Jenny People caught decent size walleye. I have seen a fair amount of rainbows caught as well. Walleye fishing has picked up by the dam. Walleyes are going deep and they are trolling for them. Deep diver Rapellas has brought success. At Red Lodge the water is rising with the rain. Deadmans/Martinsdale Justin “Very few visitors at Martinsdale and Deadmans for me to check. Fishing is slow but they are picking up rainbow trout and a few Kokanee. There is water up on the ramp. They opened up the gates. The Musselshell went from 90 to 200 cubic feet. Few people are catching rainbow from shore. The water is coming up,” Justin said. Don’s Lewistown- Dale “Everything is blown out! We had 5 ½ inches last week and this week in 24 hours we got 3 inches. No place is catching. We even had the highway closed at Bohemian Corners earlier this week,” Dan says. Crooked Creek-Grant Due to low water levels no boat use at Crooked Creek. No boat access. The marina will not be open. It is closed but cabins are still available for other uses just call 1-406-429-2999. Lewistown Sports-Dave Lots of rain so Spring Creek is blown out right now. Not much to fish right now. Minnow Bucket-Allen Camarillo 861-0156 The Yellowstone is dirty and rising. You can get catfish and some are getting 4 to 5 pounders. Try finding a deep hole or an inlet or outlet of an irrigation ditch channel. Cooney people were using a boat or fishing by the dam off shore and getting fish in the rain. One fisherman got 20 to 30 walleye. Yellowtail has some action as people are heading there. No return reports to tell. Silos Canyon Ferry-Sharon “Fishing has been slow. We are waiting for the water temperature to come up. It is up to 59 degrees right now. Have had lots of weather and wind. Shore fishing is not bad. Broadway Rod and Gun Tournament is moved to Canyon Ferry this year instead of Goose Bay on July 12 th”, Sharon says. Holter I spoke to a fisherman on the phone who fished in the rain at Holter and said fishing is good right now. He caught walleye 16 to 20 inches, 2 to 3 pounders. He was fishing by the “upper campground by Long Gulf to the cabin where the power lines start. He was off the shore at 150 feet deep using a rapella. Anything that is chartreuse is working.” West Side Sports Dan 1-406-654-1611 Everything is floating away. Today, Tuesday, we got 1 to 1 ¾ inches of rain. The weekend was decent. Nelson was fairly decent fishing using bottom bouncers. Go 8 to 30 feet for walleye using worm harness. They were catching once in a while a 14 to 16 inch fish using Berkley’s flicker shads. Forchette is so muddy and access is bad right now. But you could get a boat in if you were real careful last week. Just go slow. Billings-Scheels Nate Rock Creek at Fort Peck is fishing really well. Use a jig to catch walleye or pike. There is no way to get a boat into Crooked Creek at Winnett. No water. “Hell Creek I hear is fishing really good. Lots of guys heading there, ”Nate said. “Yellowtail is spotty but four walleye were caught that were 4 pounds so you can find nice ones. They were jigging for them. Tongue river is fishing ok. One fisherman got 25 crappies on a trip. Walleye fishing is picking up. Nelson Reservoir is fishing real good. Yellowwater toward Winnett I hear is great. They are catching 2 to 2 ½ pounders. Lake Elmo is fishing well. Someone caught a 40 inch musky out of there, said Nate. Rich’s Tackle Richard Rain has made fishing slow. Cloudy all week. We have LOTS of worms. Yellowtail/ Big Horn –Dave Egdorf 406-665-3489 “We have had more rain this week with wind. The Big Horn lake is coming up. It is up a couple of feet. The reservoir is quite full. You can pick up walleye and small mouth fly fishing right now. The locals are going after carp with a fly rod and having fun with a good fight. Willow Creek Reservoir is producing nice rainbow trout, “Dave says. “On the Yellowstone they are catching less. It is really, really muddy. If you take a container of the water and let it settle the bottom of the container for one inch the sediment is impossible to look through. Really muddy,” Dave explains.
