EASTPORT some say it is the best kept secret in Maine. In 2000 the State of Maine nicknamed Eastport The Millennium City because we are the first to see the most beautiful of sunrises in the Nation. We are home to second highest tides in the world and have the deepest port in the U.S. We also are host to the largest whirl pool in the western hemisphere named The Old Sow, Shackford Head State Park, Fort Sullivan, and Bold Coast Trails. For a tiny and quaint community Eastport offers many opportunities such as Performing Arts in music and theatre, art galleries, shopping, dining, history and museums, sightseeing, whale watching, wildlife watching, tourism and outdoor recreation. Eastport is an island and an international border sharing the Bay of Fundy. We are neighbors with Campobello Island, N.B., Canada, the summer home of President T. Roosevelt when he was a child. It’s no lie, yes it is quite the drive to get here…but when you find us, you’ll never want to leave.
