EAT, EAT, EAT IT UP! Id like to, before we start, credit this series to a my dear friend Tosin who bears the same mind on the word the study thereof with me and pushed me, though without his knowledge to start this up.(this is just a stylish way to also tag you to this post sha. so Enjoy! *winks*). These days, a lot of churches, fellowships, christian associations, ministries, and all are concentrating on the Word and the study of Gods Word, giving it priority and making it a hit in their services and it is beautiful. Its a good thing to see that the church is giving priority to the word. But, I have come to discover that a lot of believers, with all the hitting done on the study of Gods Word, have found it hard to actually study the word because they basically dont know how or the how they know is really difficult. It was also an uphill task for me until I found the truth I am sharing in this series. When I first got born again. I wanted to get an in-depth knowledge of Gods Word. I walked up to a Pastor and asked him how that could happen. He looked at me and said You see, you need to study it! not just read it o; STUDY! Get a word note and sit with your bible and start studying. Pick a chapter and stay on it, make sure you get something from it! Thats the way my dear. I had found something worthwhile to try my hands on and it was a relief... Well, until I started it. Everyday, I devoted not less that two hours to studying the word. But Nothing came in. I just crammed passages in the bible to feel among. Nothing whatsoever was happening to me. No understanding, no light, no insight; NOTHING! If I got a little understanding, it was from staying and thinking on one scripture for days trying to make something out of it! Then in one of my frustrated moments, as I asked God why I just couldnt get it, I opened my bible and it fell to Matthew 4:4. I saw the answer to my question immediately and nothing changed me more! The reason a lot of People, like the former me, never get to have understanding or as much insights is simple: THE WORD IS NOT TAKEN AS FOOD! Until this happens and you just keep eating, you may never get it. Lets check that scripture Matt 4:4 Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God The comparison here is clear. Bread is food for the stomach and the Word is food for the spirit/soul(as TLB puts it). Now look at this. When food is made and set before you, all you need to do is pick a spoon or fork and eat. No more, no less! You have no business with how the food digests or what is going on with the food in your stomach. YOUR JOB IS JUST TO EAT!. Eat and keep eating. Thats what to do with the word. Eat and keep eating. You dont stop eating; You just keep eating that book; Eat it all up! When you eat food, you dont begin to study, under a microscope to find all the minute ingredients and warreffa warrefa in the food. You just eat and fogerrit. Thats what you do with the word. READ THE WORD LIKE A NOVEL; A STORY BOOK. JUST READ! Eat it all Up! Ephesian 3:3&4 how that by revelation He made known to me the mysteries(s briefly written already, by which when you READ, YOU MAY UNDERSTAND in my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) See? Ya Job is to jes read fa! dasall! Dont do more than read, read and read again and again and again and again till again never ends. Just eat it up! Thats Study. Like Tosin said, Study is ACCUMULATED READING! A constant eating and eating... Just keep reading and keep readIng; thats your Job. 2 important notes: *Come to the word with an open heart. A willing heart to be filled and not to show off, only reading because you want to shout out what revelation you may get. Come like a humble, hungry child, not interested in showing off what food he eats but who is just willing to eat and grow. *Eat by discipline: Sometimes you dont have he appetite to eat. You just dont feel like eating. Sometimes, you become so busy food may be the last thing on your mind. Such times you eat bu discipline. You eat, not because you are hungry but because you need it. Do that to Gods Word. READ IT, FEELING OR NOT, CONVENIENTLY OR INCONVENIENTLY, JUST EAT UP THAT BOOK! When you are ill is when you are most unlikely to eat but its also when you are advised to eat more; even if you vomit, they get you to relax and make you eat again. Thats what you do with the word. At your down times, you may not feel like reading, but thats when you need to read more. As you read, you may get tired. Relax, take some time out... but go back to it. READ BY DISCIPLINE! DONT STOP TILL YOU HAVE EATEN THAT BOOK! So how then do you understand? Answers tomorrow and next! see you then! SSEA #LIGY
