EBOLA:- Makeni EBOLA Alert. (MANY PRONOUNCED DEAD ON ARRIVAL). This is serious. ************************************************************************* Dr. Osman Bah the Makeni Hospital Director says Ebola cases have spiked in recent weeks. The Makeni Hospital admission over capacity with many pronounced dead on arrival. With no treatment centres, the sick people have nowhere else to go. Highly contagious patients lay in the open. There is no way of telling which patients are actually Ebola positive. Despite this, THEY ARE ALL KEPT TOGETHER. Medical staff here have little training or experience dealing with Ebola. The sets of equipment are inadequate.-VOA 3 staff members have died already and 99 percent of cases isolated are positive with the Ebola virus says Dr. Bah. 25 confirmed Ebola patients left Makeni for the Doctors-Without-Boarders (MSF) treatment centre in Kailahun last night,4 died died during the 16 hours journey.- Everyday we have ambulances arriving and the when we open the door, there are dead bodies inside the ambulance, says Doctor Axelle Vandoornick from MSF. Dr Bah says he is not hopeful the situation will improve. For now the situation is not under control, we are hoping for the better, but I am afraid. Maybe it will get worse-says Dr. Bah
