EC notice to Rahul Gandhi over his ISI remark - Times of India BHOPAL: Election Commission of India on Thursday served a notice to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi over the alleged violation of model code of conduct through his speech about Muzaffarnagar riot victims being approached by ISI of Pakistan at Indore in Madhya Pradesh and Churu in Rajasthan earlier this month. Rahul has been asked to reply by November 4. In its notice EC has cited the speech of Rahul Gandhi given at Indore on October 24, where he said, that riots at Muzaffarnagar were incited by BJP for votes and that ISI was in touch with 10-15 youths whose families were affected by the riots. The notice said, the Commission has viewed the CDs of both the speeches made by you at lndore and Churu and had detailed deliberations on the same; and the Commission is prima facie of the view that your aforesaid speeches are violating several sections of model code of conduct. lf no reply is received within the prescribed time limit, it will be presumed that you have nothing to say and the Commission will proceed to take appropriate action without any further reference to you, the notice added. A complaint in this regard was filed by BJP state unit president to chief electoral officer of Madhya Pradesh on October 24, followed by a similar complaint by Rajasthan BJP state unit president on October 25 with the chief electoral officer of Rajasthan.
