ECCSA, US Chamber of Commerce ink MoU The Ethiopian Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations (ECCSA) and the Chamber of Commerce of the United States of America signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on January 22,2015 here in Addis Ababa at the head quarters of ECCSA. As stated in the MoU, both parties entered into the Memorandum of Understanding to pursue their common objective to support the strengthening of the bilateral commercial relationship between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the United States of America. Prior to the signing ceremony the officials of the two Chambers have discussed on the possible areas of cooperation after identifying the priorities of their respective Chambers of Commerce. ‘’In recognizing the positive opportunity reflected in the increasing competitive economic environment in Ethiopia, the Chamber and ECCSA undertake to cooperate in order to collaborate on advocating for AGOA’s renewal on or before September 30, 2015, enhance trade exchange between Ethiopia and American companies and encourage U.S. direct investment in the Ethiopian market’’, states the MoU. The MoU was signed by Mr. Gashaw Debebe, Secretary General of ECCSA and Mr. Myron Brilliant, Executive V/President and Head of International Affairs of U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
