ECOMOMIC FREEDOM? The language and concepts we use tend to define who we are and our ideological orientation. The concept economic freedom is loved by free market ideologues who advocate that capital should have the freedom to. inter alia. own roads, the police. health services etc and profiteer out of those. Free enterprise, free market, free trade and economic freedom are their language. As may be found in the Freedom Charter, our has always been a struggle for political and social emancipation, the social emancipation includes economic emancipation. There is a world of difference between economic freedom and economic emancipation. Economic emancipation also unshackles from the tyranny of the markets so loved by economic freedom advocates like Free Market Foundation.
