ECUMENICAL NEWS: The Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria have announced the election of a new Bishop for Nitria. This is an official message on the matter from the office of the Deputy Dean Fr.Evangelos Thiani: This is to inform you all that our very own Senior Lecturer and former Deputy Dean of our Seminary, the Very Rev Archimandrite Neophytos Kongai is by the Grace of God after the election of the Holy Synod of Alexandria and All Africa this morning, the new Bishop-Elect of Nitria. Let us all glorify God for this great news. For those who dont know him please see his picture below. Bishop-elect Neophytos is the second Kenyan to be made a Bishop and coincidentally holding the same ancient diocese of Nitria; the first Being Bishop George Gathuna, the Father of Orthodoxy in Kenya.
