EDITORS CORNER...This Sunday marks our one year anniversary for Anne Arundel 1st Alert. Its been an honor to serve you and a thrill to watch our LIKES grow. We report on the good things and the bad. The lost, the found and at times really made some of you angry. Unfortunately, at times, our reach extends past the computer, as many of our subscribers have lost loved ones that we have reported on. We receive countless e-mails and message giving us information and the behind the scenes information that we dont/cant publish. Its a wake up call, realizing just how short and precious life is. Recently, my brother, who is handicapped, lost his $500 iPad. He had placed it on top of his car and drove off, forgetting it was on the roof. When he arrived at home he was heartbroken - remembering the last place he put it. Knowing it was gone forever. He called me and asked if I could help him find it. I explained that, unless someone finds it and is honest enough to return it - its gone! He understood, and was trying to figure a way to raise the money to buy another one. After he left I received a text message on my phone. It was from a family in Pasadena explaining that they found an iPad and was going through the contacts to see if they could find the owns! WOW! I said... That was perfect timing! I contacted my brother and this evening he and his iPad are together again! It dawned on me that our County, with all the problems and crime still have honest people. People that will go the extra mile to do whats right! And so, to begin our second year, we want to add a section from time to time called Random Acts of Kindness where YOU, our subscribers send us a direct message telling us about something you did, or someone did to you, that was kind and nice. We think that after reading all the bad things that happen, reading something good will help everyone deal (with the bad) a little easier. To Mr. James Burford and his family, Thank you for helping my brother today! To play it forward - Your random act of kindness will continue through the year so others can gain from it as well!
