He is an “über-agent” who has worked for the most prestigious talent agencies in Hollywood. These agencies have represented some of the biggest names in show business, including actors, filmmakers, and screenwriters. Collectively, the agencies handle many of today’s most acclaimed artists, including Academy Award, Golden Globe, Screen Actor’s Guild, Tony, Emmy, Grammy, and People’s Choice winners and nominees. This class will cover acting technique, how to stand out in your audition, what agents and casting directors look for when auditioning as well as overall industry information. The students will do scenes for Mitchell and he will redirect and advise on improvement as well. In addition, there will discussion on what other actors he has worked with did to get started. Mitchell represents some of the most successful rising stars currently working in the film and television industries. His clients can be seen in major motion pictures, and on television almost every day of the week. Prior to CESD, Mitchell was an agent with the powerhouse United Talent Agency, and owned and operated Gossett Entertainment Management, where he produced films and theatre and managed actors with strong theatrical backgrounds. Mitchell studied theatre and acting at the New York University (NYU) School of the Arts Bachelor of Fine Arts program, State University of New York/Buffalo and holds a Master’s Degree in Acting from Cornell University. He studied acting with members of The National Theatre of Great Britain. Mitchell is the Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of the Los Angeles based theatre company Bottom’s Dream, an organization committed to premiering innovative American writers. Mitchell has also been honored with a Backstage West Garland Award for Performance.
