EDUCATION What is Education? Lets go back to the basics. Why am I even going to school? All school kids around the country are preparing themselves to start the new year of schooling. They are excited for the new level of grade they will be in, the new friends they will meet, teachers, classrooms and for some schools they will transfer to. Are their mindset pre-adjust or being in the mood to learn new things? Are their holiday mood being completly driven out from them? Are their responsibilty as being a student captures their attention? All these questions pins down to only one simple answer and that would be Schooling/Education. Education in simple terms it can be described as the act of imparting knowledge and skills including wisdom into a person. What is this person? Its the student, and Student again means someone who is in the act or process of acquiring knowledge and skills from a teacher or institution. A teacher is someone who is there to facilitate or help and guide the student to gain knowledge and skills, and an institution is the school. I as the student for me to be Educated not only depends on the Teacher, School, Facilities, or my family and friends. 60% comes from my own effort, 20% from teachers, 10% from school and the last 10% is from my family and community. Okay from their where is the bigger protion? I believe its the 60% and it falls in my own hands as a student. If I want to be educated the greatest effort has to come from myself and no one else; ...how can I see my own effort put into use. 1). Study...I have to study so that my mind never loose track of what I have learnt, and I have to know what I have learnt to the very roots of it so that it becomes part of me for life. 2). Read...I have to read alot of books. I must try read books everyday. It will help with my English speaking and writing. 3). Keep away from bad influence...stop hanging around with friends unnecessarly. 4). Manage my Time...I have to do a time management table to follow everyday. 5). Church...make God become my number one priority. Go to church and my free time be given all to God. Read the Bible everyday, its Wisdom, Gods words. 6). Always listen attentively to my parents, teachers, elders and Pastors. Never ever try to resist their words of wisdom. 7). Do not compare myself to others and try to have what they have...for example money, clothes, mobile phones, or any other things. Always concerntrate on my school work and nothing else. I really really hope you make this year a priority to LEARN as much as you can from God, yourself and School. Have a wonderful year and may Our Heavenly Father be with you throughout the year.
