EEF students: I just wanted to take this opportunity to share with you some exciting news about the Energy Efficiency program. For those of you who don’t already know, we’ve been working on a number of things over the course of the past six months that will help improve the Energy Efficiency program. We took a hard look at feedback from our local and national advisory boards, from our career services department and, most importantly, from you, our students and have started to make some tweaks to our curriculum. Our goal, as always, is to improve this program to give you the best preparation for jobs in industry upon graduation. The main thrust of what we are trying to do with the program now is to maintain a curriculum that gives our students a broad background while focusing in more on the energy auditing aspect of this career field. Currently, we will be supplementing our courses with a one-week intensive BPI class that will give our EEf students a BPI certification in addition to the associate of applied science. The long-term plan is to bring this BPI certification in house, with lab equipment to support the training and I will keep you all posted on the timeline for that. Chris G. (Ecotech Institute)
