EFF CCT STATEMENT FOLLOWING ITS MEETING ON THE 8 SEPTEMBER 2014 08 September 2014 Economic Freedom Fighters Central Command Team met on Monday 8, 2014 in its normal meeting and considered the state of the organisation, shifting political developments domestically and internationally in light of the broader economic emancipation struggle. The CCT considered the EFF performance in Parliament and all the nine Legislatures, received reports from different sub-committees and provinces about the state of the organisation and political developments in general. Amongst many of its reflections, the CCT had the following decisive resolutions to communicate to the membership and general public: The National People’s Assembly The CCT has resolved that the National People’s Assembly shall take place in the Gauteng province from the 13 to the 16 December 2014. The National Peoples Assembly shall be constituted by CCT members who have launched branches, PCTs and RCTs that come from launched provinces and regions respectively, as well as delegates from branches. The assembly shall run with the theme of People’s Power for Economic Freedom which names the next five years of EFF’s life after this gathering. This means EFF will be building and consolidating people’s power for economic emancipation through all forms of radical political programs, including both local government and general elections. The resolutions of this assembly must therefore ensure that there is a people’s power for economic emancipation. Extension of Branch and Regional Peoples Assemblies EFF has since declared a period of consolidating its establishment through the launching of branches across each and every ward in South Africa. This period is guided by CCT adopted guidelines which have been published and workshoped across the country. To this extant, the EFF has noted that indeed there is a lot of development, although unevenly, across different provinces. The CCT noted that Limpopo province is ready to go for launch in terms of the guidelines in that it has launched EFF branches in 70% of the wards in the province. Furthermore, there are regions in Gauteng, Free State, and Noth West, which are ready to go into assemblies and processes are underway to audit and facilitate the peoples assemblies. There is still work to be done in the rest of other provinces. To this extent, and based on a momentum that has developed over the past two weeks; the CCT has decided to extend the launching of branches from 7 September 2014 to 05 October, 2014. All regions that are currently ready must concurrently sit for peoples assemblies. However, the new deadline for all regional assemblies has also been extended to the 19 October 2014. The CCT has mandated PCTs to directly make sure branches are launched in all areas where they are lagging behind. This means where the Provincial Command Teams are not finding cooperation with region there must be a direct coordination from the PCT to launch branches. Furthermore, Regional People’s Assemblies and Provincial People’s Assemblies remain the responsibility of the Central Command Team. The CCT has noted with grave concern that the processes of launching branches has been accompanied by unruly disruptions carried out by individuals both within leadership structures and outside, and at times by individuals and groups not even belonging to the EFF. From the beginning of the process, the leadership has noted that disruptions will be unacceptable and will be dealt with harshly, thus all those identified with disruption shall be dealt with through due organisational processes. Conclusion The CCT remains confident that the struggle for economic emancipation can only be conducted through an organ that exists in all communities in South Africa. This process of branch launches must be used to take the EFF to the people by gaining the confidence and trust of communities for the consolidation of peoples power for economic emancipation. Finally, every fighter must belong to a branch in good standing, and a commissar is not a commissar
