EFFICIENT PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION PO ANG KAILANGAN NATING LAHAT: "This might be news to our public officials but buses are a more efficient use of road space. A single bus can carry 80 passengers. It would take at least 20 cars to move as many people. Twenty cars would need five times the road space of a single bus. And yet, in the eyes of our traffic managers, a car with one passenger is more important than a bus with 80. How many cars can EDSA hold? How many people can you move if you only prioritize cars? This, too, is inevitable because our leaders (political, civic, economic, etc. -yes, even media) get around the city by car. They do not take public transit. They are not part of the 80-percent. The only thing they have to suffer is traffic and so they keep trying to solve traffic congestion. They are stuck in a mode of thinking that the world is abandoning." Benjamin de la Pena
