EFFIN G.A.A NOTES Gathering: The Effin G.A.A gathering will take place on the weekend of October 25th-28th inclusive. Preparations are well under for an action packed weekend with events to cater for everybody. Final itinerary will be completed shortly but at the moment the following events are all but confirmed. On Friday 25th there will be a table quiz while there will be also a photographic exhibition and historical talk in the hall. Saturday 26th will see a fun run /walk followed by a novelty GAA game at the field. Later that evening the BBQ and live music session will be held. On Sunday morning the photographic exhibition continues in the hall with a coffee/tea morning after mass. The underage Bord na nOg/ Camogie stars will be showing off their skills in the “puck the ring”competition. Later in the hall Afternoon Tea dance will take place while the Effin GAA minor teams of 1959 and the Junior teams on 1977 and 1982 will be honoured. On Monday the action continues with a walk to Ballinaboola wood. Later that afternoon there will be a Treasure hunt around the parish. As part of the weekend it is proposed to hold a photographic exhibition which will look back on all parish activities over the past decades. Anybody with photos of interest please contact Karen Collins on 087-8298938 for further details. All photos will be returned after the conclusion of the exhibition. These are just some of the activities being planned for the weekend with hopefully some more in the pipeline. Full itinerary will be available soon so watch this space.
