EIGHTH GRADE AWARDS ASSEMBLY! Eighth grade students being recognized for outstanding achievement while attending Centennial Junior High School were honored at the annual Eighth Grade Awards Program on Thursday, May 8, 2014. Jarod Brownlow was honored by the American Legion as Representative Boy and Bailey Anderson was honored by the American Legion Auxiliary as Representative Girl. Runners up were Abigail Childs, Tayla Davis, Hannah Henry, Abigail Schoup, Shea Hensley, Caige McComb, Owen Stevens, and Payton Wetzel. Madison Torczon and Jared Daniels were chosen by the Centennial faculty to receive the Outstanding Citizenship Awards. Outstanding Jazz Band Members were Max VonGunten and Jevin Greenwood. The Outstanding Choir Award went to Anya Tuft. The Most Improved Musician Award went to Austin Mena and the Eagle Spirit Award was given to Abi Schoup. The Outstanding Musician’s Award in Orchestra went to Anya Tuft. The Outstanding Strings Club member is Claire Johnson. The Spirit Award was presented to Owen Stevens and the Most Improved Award was given to Arvid Messmer. The Leadership Award went to Cynthia Locker. Art Student Awards were given to Max Moore and Abigail Schoup. A Most Accomplished Award was given to Jessica Hutchinson and Brittani Wert. The Outstanding Family and Consumer Science student is Shea Hensley. Hoorable Mention was given to: Abby Childs, Irie Elliott, Jessica Hutchinson, Madison Rust, Shaelea Spargur, and Owen Stevens. The Outstanding Physical Education student awards were presented to Caige McComb and Emily Applegate. The Most Improved Student award was given to Abner Lopez. Academic Achievement Awards in the field of Tech A were given to: Lane Smith, Jeremy Day, Cynthia Locker, Tayla Davis, Claire Johnson, and Kelly Hanshaw. The Outstanding Tech A student was Max Moore. The Outstanding Tech B student was Abigail Schoup.
