EIILM Students University called on strike Students Release 26 Dec, West Sikkim : The major issues of the EIILM University students have still been pending on the desk of the university management . All most 72 hours elapsed after contacting various authorities of Education and FIR being lodged at Soreng Police post it went unheard. After missing for several days midway during the end semester examination time, Examination Controller Mr. M.K Manoj of EIILMU reappeared with lame excuses about his disappearance which is a shameful act coming from the person with huge responsibility. Despite a promising statement from representatives of HRDD and Sikkim Govt, during their last sit-up with the students, students are yet to see assurances it in action. Such meetings were also held in the past and never a concrete solution came out except same promising words repeats every time. Four Vice Chancellors (VC) and three Registrars have been changed during the course of five months. Students are unaware of newly appointed VC or Registrar as they are just a shadow and directing everything telephonically. Could he/she at the end of the line be really the new VC of EIILM University or anyone? We students are unaware about whats going on. Students are so much frustrated with numerous upheavals related to EIILM University that they do not know what to do next. One of the student says, Im so frustrated that I get a feeling to commit suicide. Who will be responsible if any single frustrated innocent does it ? Will it be College management, HRDD or Sikkim Govt.? There are students from all over the country and neighboring countries (Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh). These students are mentally disturbed to appear any of the remaining papers due to the regular disturbances in the scheduled examination period and suspicious activities happening in the university during odd hours. This strike corresponds to their prayer to concerned authority to intervene and restore the peace of mind for the students and parents who are emotionally & financially attached with this university. Until the representatives from HRDD and Sikkim Govt. intervene to assure students life and career in pronounced action, students are willing to remain in the campus II.
