EKVE impacts on the Park at the Ampang forest reserve - TrEES was informed via telephone conversations by both the DOE and EKVE Sdn Bhd (the project proponent that there have been changes to the alignment of the approved section of the expressway (Phase 1) which runs through the State Park at the Ampang catchment forest, with the expressway interchange proposed to run very close to the Ampang forest recreation site and water treatment plant. However, we are in the dark on these changes. The Ampang intake provides 19 million liters of water per day to thousands of families in the Ampang area. There have already been major water interruptions due to siltation of the water caused by heavy rains, and this is with the forest intact. What will happen when the expressway is traversing through this steep, landslide prone area?
