ELCIN’S VOICE SILENT AS OMUKWETU DEMISES I say, comrades, Omukwetu (which is Ambo language for Friend) has been shut down owing to lack of funds for production and payment of staff salaries. The demise of Omukwetu is subject of its lead article (of its last edition) dated July 1-31 2014. ELCIN decided to shut down Omukwetu in accordance with resolution 53/2014 following a meeting held on or around June 12 2014. This means that Omukwetu demise came some 113 years after its foundation in 1901. Omukwetu is the official organ of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Namibia, better known as ELCIN. Omukwanekamba is a member of ELCIN and hence his concern. Is there a wealthy philanthropist out there who can help fund Omukwetu?
