ELECTIONS UPDATE: ELECTIONS 2014 WHY pm CHOSE OPEN BUS it will help bainimarama reach out to the people more easily than a closed bus The Prime Minister, Rear Admiral (Retired) Voreqe Bainimarama, said he chose an open campaign bus because it would allow him to reach out to the public. He made this comment after launching his proposed political party, FijiFirst, and a campaign bus that he would be taking around the country to collect his 5000 signatures. “I chose this bus because it’s open and one that can reach out to the public at large, we don’t want a closed one,” Mr Bainimarama said. The bus is owned by the Island Buses Limited and is only hired by the Prime Minister. Company director Virendra Kewal confirmed it. Meanwhile, Fijis UFDF has slammed Bainimaramas use of Fijis coat of arms. The group says the regime leaders use of the Fiji coat of arms goes against the law. The prime minister Rear Admiral Frank Bainimarama has been photographed in front of a bus which he plans to use to travel the country collecting signatures for his Fiji First party. The bus also bears Fijis coat of arms. The United Front for a Democratic Fiji says using it as his proposed partys logo goes against the Coat of Arms of Fiji (Restriction of Use) Act. The UFDF says Australia and New Zealand have eagerly removed their effective travel restrictions on the regime, but they remain oblivious and detached from the realities on the ground in Fiji, despite the existence of clear signs of manipulation and deception. radionz.co.nz/international/pacific-news/240406/fijis-ufdf-slams-bainimaramas-use-of-fijis-coat-of-arms Kaci Vaka Na Dina
