EMAIL EXCHANGE THAT IS HAUNTING ME A student in my 300-student lecture class emailed me asking for tips to do better on tests. She has scored 50% on the first two out of three exams (which are online and you can use the book and notes, though you do have to move at a pace of 1 minute per question). She wanted my advice, she said, because she felt she was not earning the grade she deserved. This was my response: Teachers hear this quite a bit. In my day (and I know it was the Dark Ages) we never would have said that to a teacher. So when I hear it, I often dont know how to respond. What possible grade could you deserve other than the one you earn? Thoughts?
