EMAIL FROM MEMBER: FATHER THREATENING SON My son is 14, me & his father split up around 10 yrs ago. He wasnt a very nice person to be honest. Never the less, Ive never denied him contact with our 3 children, he just chooses to abuse it. Hes never been interested in any of them , if hes not in work hes at the pub 7 days a week, pays nothing at all towards his childrens up bringing. Basically hes just a waster. Anyway my 14 yr old has gone off the rails over the last 12-18 months. He is getting out of control. Hes been kicked out of his school, hes smoking, getting in to real bother, stealing from the house & anyone elses. Im absolutely lost now with him.I have asked his father for help/support with him but his answer is just give him a beating !! 12 months ago he told my son he wants nothing to do with him... This is only because hes pathetic & cant be bothered with the stress of him. A year later nothings changed, no birthday or Xmas presents for him just the other 2 children (shocking!) Recently my son went to his grandmothers house where his father also lives & stole £2:80 out of his money jar. Later that night his father was texting me telling me hes gonna give him the best beating hes ever had!! Ive told him although what he did was wrong, he has no right to do a single thing to him as hes not wanted to know him for well over a year. Im now worried that he will catch hold of my son & hurt him. What should I do? Any help is appreciated Thanks guys
