EMAIL IN : EPWP workers - job seeker database request for Arts & Culture department 1. Project number: TEAM/AC/15/354 2. Ward/Area where you want the workers: across Subcouncil 19 3. What is the nature of the job: - We are seeking community artists who have skills and experience in working in/on carnivals on costume and float building/fabrication. The successful applicants will be placed in either the float or costume development workshops to gain on the job further training in understanding the mechanic of what is required to build a float, construct costume for carnival taking into consideration the movement of the peace and how the performers will move within the peace to create a mini production. 4. The working hours/days: 08h00 – 16h30 5. Start and end date of the project: 05 January - 07 April 2015 6. Amount that workers will be paid: R120 p/d for costume and float fabricators and R166 p/d for the supervisors 7. Where are you going to position the worker: Community artists in costume department will be based in CBD and the float builders will be based in Maitland. 8. How many people do you want: 3 supervisors + 22 carnival community artists Supervisor Costume and float construction Criteria: The applicant should have a matric qualification with the requirements Must be computer literate Must have people management skills Must have good results and track record of diligence and reliability Must have good written and verbal skills Must have an interest in the Arts Should be between 30 and 35 years of age Preferably have a drivers licence Should be able to work odd hours if necessary – within EPWP stipulations. Costume fabricator Should have good hand eye coordination Preferably have an interest in the Arts and creative aspirations. Should be between 21 and 28 years of age Should be able to and be prepared to work odd hours where necessary or if required – i.e. over weekends or in the evenings – within EPWP regulations. Should have good understanding of teamwork. Will benefit from having a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in a high pressure creative environment. Float fabricator Should have an eye for detail Must have a sense of aesthetic and colour Pay Preferably have an interest in the Arts and creative aspirations. Should be between 21 and 28 years of age Should be able to and be prepared to work odd hours where necessary or if required – i.e. over weekends or in the evenings – within EPWP regulations. Should have good understanding of teamwork. Will benefit from having a flexible and enthusiastic approach to working in a high 9.
