EMERGENCE REVERSE DICTIONARY: Be Realistic. Easily, my most abhorred phrase. Its supposed to mean take stock of what the realities are around you. For instance, be real about the time you have, take stock of your strengths, weaknesses and your resources before you execute. Its turned in to being the mantra of overly afraid naysayers whove at some point possibly cowered at the thought of walking into their own greatness. It now means, Be non-daring, unadventurous and dont even think about taking risks. In fact, wed appreciate it if you stay like the rest of us, maintain status quo and dont try anything novel. Im pretty sure I would fail at what youre attempting, so you probably would to. Dont dare show me up! Heres the thing, every last thing thats good in my life, every achievement, every last accolade is a result of me being unrealistic. Heck, today when I hear Be realistic it is my cue to do exactly the opposite. You do the same.
