EMERGENCY APPEAL .... The ACE transformer has been vandalised, smashed to pieces and the copper wires within, stolen. This means that ACE now has no mains power, we are using a small diesel generator to keep the fridge working which contains vital medical supplies. The transformer which is located half way down the street outside ACE was paid for by us when the hospital was built. Unfortunately as soon as it is connected to the main grid it then becomes the property of the electric company. Now that it is vandalised the electric company will not replace it as it only feeds power to the hospital and is not their problem. We obviously need to get the power back as quickly as possible and night emergencies will be very difficult to deal with. It will cost aprox £5,500 sterling to replace, which is a huge amount of money for us. So please help us if you can, we are committed to continue our support of the animals in Luxor who depend on us.
