EMERGENCY WARNING | Greens road Warrimoo | Update from the NSW RFS - Current Situation The fire is burning in a south easterly direction towards Baden Place, Blaxland. An Aircrane has been deployed to the area to assist firefighters. Advice For people in the area around Baden Place in Blaxland - if your plan is to leave or you are not prepared, leave now if the path is clear. Seek shelter if the fire impacts on your property to protect yourself from the heat of the fire. There is thick smoke in the area and residents should be alert to possible burning embers. Well prepared and actively defended homes can offer safety during the fire. Students at Warrimoo Public School are safe and have been cared for by staff. The school was not evacuated. Follow advice from firefighters on the scene. An Emergency Alert telephone warning message has been sent to phones in the area. Traffic is heavy on the Great Western Highway. Avoid the area and be aware of fire trucks working in the area. Other Information If your life is at risk, call Triple Zero (000) immediately. Continue to stay up to date with the bush fire situation by checking rfs.nsw.gov.au, listening to your local radio station or by calling the NSW RFS Bush Fire Information Line on 1800 679 737. If you live in the area but are away from home, it may not be safe to return to your property. For information on road closures, check livetraffic. Roads may be closed without warning.
