EMIRATES TO CUT SA SCHEDULE DURING DUBAI AIRPORT EXPANSION Date published 17.03.2014 EMIRATES is to adjust its schedules between May 1 and July 20 to enable the construction of expanded facilities at Dubai International Airport and has confirmed temporary reductions for its South African services. According to the airline, it will operate a single daily flight out of Cape Town during that period, with Johannesburg operations cut from three flights per day to two. Daily Durban services will remain unchanged. A spokesperson for the airline said: “It will be business as usual for Emirates during the runway upgrade works… although there will be some changes to the flight schedule to South Africa… its full schedule to South Africa (will resume) once the runway upgrade has been completed.”
