EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: MEDICAL ASSISTANT - PEDIATRIC URGENT CARE, GENESYS Department: Pediatric Urgent Care Schedule: Part-time Shift: Second Hours: 5:15pm - 11:15pm QOWE Hours per pay period: 40-50 hours/pay Job Details: The Medical Assistant performs a variety of technical and clerical skills under the supervision of the Clinical Coordinator. These skills include but are not limited to the following: monitoring of vital signs, collection of specimens following Universal Body Substance Precaution guidelines, injections, venipunctures, and health screening examinations. The Medical Assistant will assist the physician with examinations, procedures or minor surgeries. Demonstrates knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to provide care to age group(s) served. Clerical skills include but are not limited to: maintaining the medical record with proper documentation of vital signs, procedures, counseling/teaching materials issued, follow-up letters, daily/monthly statistics. Minimum Qualifications: 1. High school graduate or equivalent. 2. Completion of advanced course work and clinical training from an accredited Medical Assisting Program and Medical Assistant Certification preferred. 3. B.L.S. certification and recertification and PALS within 1 year of employment. 4.
