ENDORSEMENTS THAT MATTER As preparations for the 2015 general elections gather momentum and aspirants for various elective position employ different strategies in marketing themselves to the people, discerning electorates must not be fooled by those who want to rule them. As I will always say; If we look well enough, we will be able to determine a bad leader during the periods of campaign. This is because, no matter how a politician tries to pretend, his intrinsic attributes must always rear their heads up. An aspirant to an elective position who will always want to publicize his endorsement by the elite has clearly shown the people (s)he is seeking to lead that (s)he is an elitist, who will always consider the interest of the elitists paramount when (s)he assumes office. I do not need to tell you the aspirants who have kept disturbing our ears with the news of their endorsements by topnotch political leaders like; Chiefs Arthur Nzeribe, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, Achike Udenwa, etc, but I will tell you about the politicians who have given the ordinary people a sense of belonging by accepting and advertizing their endorsements. The class of people whose endorsement a politician values most is a picture into those who will determine that politicians policy direction: IKEDI OHAKIM: Love or hate him, he has successfully relaunched himself into the minds of Imo people. Time has made it possible for the people to realize the lies in the stories they were told about him in the past. Today, he has become the biggest beneficiary of the peoples goodwill. Just recently, a coalition of proletarian based organizations came together to openly endorse his candidature for the upcoming gubernatorial election. This associations which cut across all ages, gender and professions culminated in the donation of the nomination and expression of interest forms to him by the Imo State Artisans Association and declaration of unalloyed support to his candidacy by the Imo State University Students Alliance, 10,000 jobs group, Keke Napep group and various other mass based associations. There was a genuine outpouring of support from those who attended and it needed no analyses for you to appreciate the genuineness of their endorsements. HOPE UZODIMMA: The Senator representing Imo West Senatorial district is another man whose endorsement came from the ordinary people. Yesterday, at the State Secretariat of the PDP in Imo State, politicians, artisans, students, professionals, youths and women from all walks of life gathered at the PDP office to obtain the nomination and expression of interest forms for Senator Hope Uzodimma to return to the Red Chambers of the national assembly. Hope did not hide his intention to seek the governorship seat, but his people prevailed on him to seek another term at the Senate, because they feel that he still has a lot to offer them at that level. THE VOICE OF THE ORDINARY PEOPLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD! KA IMO DI MMA OZO!
