ENT put a camera through the stent. He could see that tissue is swelled up behind the stent blocking the air flow. He put Jeren on a 5 day steroid prescription to see if that will take down the swelling in the tissue to allow him to breathe. If this does not work, our ENT is out of options and cannot help us any more. Clearly, to put another stent in the same affected place would just have the same results. He cant switch and put the stent in the other nostril because the airway is too small and one would not be effective. At this point we are praying like crazy the steroid works. We are sad and scared for our baby. Justin put in another call to CHOP to see if they have made their opinion and can help us. If they cant, we are out of options and will be asking one of the specialists to put in a trach. Jeren is tired from fighting to breathe the last 13 months and so are we. Maybe God has been leading us to this result all along and now, we have to listen? Please continue praying for us- man oh man do we need it! xoxo The Scheffs
