EO2 Ponce is doing good, sounding great, and even better after I told him he was cleared by the doctors and will be on his way back this weekend. I have told everyone not to get there hopes up too much until he is actually on the bird, wheels up and that damn thing has touched down here in Misawa due to the fact that we have all been through this before. In other words keep your fingers crossed! Anyway, I talked to his case worker this afternoon and she gave me the all-clear unless some drastically changes in his condition between now and then. So, orders are cut for one of our Bees to fly down tomorrow, pick him up and roll on back. Still waiting to receive plane tickets for the two of them but as of now everything is moving in the right direction. He had a good day, went to dinner at an Italian restaurant tonight and is now just chillin out watching movies. He is ready to get back to work, PT and everything else that a military man is accustomed too and not just sitting around. I think he is honestly ready to go home and see his wife, baby and the rest of his family! He actually had leave scheduled to leave a couple days after the fight but that all went to hell in a hand basket so hopefully he can have the opportunity to do it sometime soon. More updates to follow tomorrow with confirmed flight and touchdown ETA so those in the area that would like to meet him at the airport have the opportunity. I can honestly say that my wife and children are super excited and our Seabee family here in Misawa is ecstatic about his return! - Billy
