EPHESIANS 4:1-22 That ye would walk worthy of God,who hath called you unto His kingdom and glory-1 Thessalonians 2:12 Walking Worthy // In the first verse of today s Bible reading and in the key verse, God calls us to "walk worthy". In Ephesians 4:1we are called to walk worthy of the vocation(devine calling) with which God has called us. In 2 Timothy1:9 it is called our holy calling. We have been called to be set apart ffom the world. We are called to serve God and to spread the word to the lost with gladness. We are called to sacrifice for the cause of Christ.we are called to be faithful to Him. Why are we called ? And how can we walk worthy of our calling ? First Corinthians 6:20 says that we are "brought with a price". John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world." God loves us and wants us to love and honor Him, so He has called us to a life of holiness that reflects His love to others so that they too might accept His calling. People such as Noah,Moses,Abraham and the prophets who walked worthy in the past didnt always have an easy life. They were called apart and sometimes suffered for it. We likdwise should be willing to suffer if need be in order to walk worthy. If we could see our lives as footprints in the sand,how would our steps line up with God s ? Every step will show ,making it imperative to be sure we are doing our best to meet God s standards and please Him. Will we ever truly be worthy ? No, God gave His Son. Redemption is a gift that we can never be worthy of . Only by grateful acceptance, true faith,and living a God -honoring life, can we "walk worthy".
