ERIC LE VANS OBITUARY ABOUT THE PASSING OF FREDERICK J. MAROTH, THE HUNGARIAN-BORN FOUNDER OF THE AMERICAN-BASED MUSIC & ARTS RECORD LABEL, ON NOVEMBER 23, 2013: I am very saddened to learn about Freds passing. I and my family wish to express our sincere condolences to his wife and family. I have the deepest admiration for the legacy Mr. Maroth is leaving behind. I feel very privileged and honored that I was able to work with him, notably on my last Exil CD that allowed for the publication of rare gems which would otherwise not have been available to the public. Fred has contributed so much to the world of classical music, and especially in bringing out from the beaten path many works that were neglected or would have fallen by the wayside, masterpieces for the most part. I especially admire his integrity in the face of commercial pressures that tend to standardize and impoverish us culturally. Fred strove to do the contrary, to enrich us and continue to make art available in all its diversity and uniqueness.
