ERIC... an old one of mine but gold BY THEBIRDMAN - Sunday 18 May 1997 On Monday our Saviour arrived from afar His collars upright - his name CANTONA By Tuesday hed captured the league on his own We hailed him the king, so proud on his throne On Wednesday he topped this without any trouble We romped to the title snd the FA Cup double Thursday ! Disaster - was all hope gone ? Eric was banned so nothing was won. Friday - hes back - double double such fun ! The very first time this feats been done On Saturday the title won on Merseyside And how we danced, and with joy we cried. Sunday we know is the Saviours rest day and Erics the KING so no more will he play What a very long week - yet so soon has it passed But what a beautiful week, why couldnt it last ?
