ESA Begins Second Galileo Satellite Orbit Correction Quoting the European Space Agencys Jean-Jacques Dordain, the Russian magazine Vestnik GLONASS (GLONASS Messenger) reports that ESA has started the operation to raise the orbit of the second Galileo satellite that was injected into a wrong orbit by the failure of the upper stage of the launch rocket back in August. Yesterday we started the operation to raise the orbit of the second unit. After a few weeks it will be in an operational orbit albeit somewhat lower in height than the one into which it was supposed to go, Dordain said at a news conference.
