ESCARGOT UPDATE Recap This little old man was brought into our Assumption Parish location as a stray. He was literally on his death bed when we rushed him to the vet. His list includes: heartworm, hookworms, major flea infestation (no hair), demodex, anemia, dry eye, and as if these problem werent bad enough it also appears hes been hit by a car so he has several broken teeth, a fractured pelvis, pneumothorax, & a luxated left hip. Our vet said that he is too week to perform surgery so hes been sent home with us to get some good home cookin so he gain weight and get some strength. But what he is NOT lacking, is true spirit. Escargot has come out of his shell (okay maybe that was a silly pun), and has made new friends with Blessing (one of our resident Beagles) and Thumper (a little hound mix puppy that is also getting ready to under go major reconstructive surgery) Since moving to Louisiana, weve sadly learned that the Hound problem is just as bad as the Pit Bull problem and we have found ourselves rescuing these dogs as well. Escargot is just one of the MANY Hounds we have here at Villalobos. Escargot is my inspiration of the day, and just went you think life is treating you bad....well.....just watch the video....words cannot describe something like this *sigh*
