ESOCS LENTEN SEASON DAY 4. TOPIC:MAKING & WORSHIPING OF IDOLS. (Exodus 20:3-6) Idol worship is 2 believe dat anything beside God can help us,or 2 hold something as more important 2 us dan God.Thus if we hold our property(for example) as more important dan God,or give our jobs more time & attention dan God-we r commiting idol worship. Unfortunately,d people who believe in God commit dis gross offence without even realizing it. Idol worship is a gross injustice,d violation of d 1st commandment in all d scriptures of God. Any work we do,if nt devoted absolutely 2 God,does nt serve 2 grow our soul.On d day of Resurrection,if our souls hv nt grown strong enough 2 withstand d presence of God-we will hv 2 4sake Gods Kingdom on our own volition.Evrythn we hv done in dis world will be nullified. All places of worship should b dedicated 2 God alone. Belief in God includes d understanding dat He alone is worthy of worship. One can always repent 4rm any offense, including idolatry, before death comes. May God protect us 4rm worshiping idols.Amen!
