ETERNAL LIFE INSURANCE! Yesterday a nice guy named Bob made a house call to sell me end of life funerals expense insurance. I was curious how much it would cost per month so I let him in. This guy is 67 yrs. old and has been at it for 46 years. What a nice guy who had many stories of selling insurance, writing up a policy & like 3 months later the client dies from a sudden heart attack and leaves a young wife & 3 children. So sad but reality sets in & thankfully the family is provided for. I got to thinking I might go to sleep tonight and I might not wake up but I do have insurance that has been paid in FULL. In the ultimate reality I have eternal life insurance by the authority of Gods Word because I have trusted in the finished work of the promised Messiah who did what He said he was going to do. He was crucified, buried & rose again on the third day according to the Jewish scriptures. I asked Bob the insurance guy if he had the same assurance about eternal life. He said he was 90% sure God would let him into Heaven because his good outweighed his bad (stuff) deeds. He told me he had a great wife who would even make him breakfast. I asked him what he thought about his wife disregarding that there was one rotten egg & mixing that one up with 2 good ones to make an omelet with home fries for his breakfast. He said, Not good, unacceptable. Well, I said thats the same thing we offer up to God; just rotten stuff. Bob seemed to get it and reassess the 90% mentality. I told him he will fall short of the glory of God as we all do when we live according to our own standard. I told him the flames were licking at his feet and that he was just a heart beat away from Hell according to what the Bible has to say, not my opinion. In a sense I was pleading with him because he was not prepared to meet God. I felt sad because he left saying he was not ready to make a decision for Christ and basically he was saying in essenceIll take my chances. He did not have his ticket to Heaven because he had never bowed his heart down in godly sorrow which would have brought on repentance & thus a clean heart before God before he dies. There are way too many people like that whom I meet all the time; it breaks my heart. Heavenly Father I thank you for providing eternal life insurance for those who will come to you empty and undone humbly entering into your rest and having experienced the NEW BIRTH! John 3:3,7 John 1:12, Romans 10:9-13, I John 5:11-13 Shalom you all, the Happy HEB
