ETHAN RUSSELL ALLISON 1YR (3-19-2011 TO 5-22-2012) (KB-Clay Allison-Bio Father) NEW ARREST IN CHILD MURDER IN DURANT June 25th, 2012 @4:05 PM On May 21st, at around 5:45 AM, Bryan county first responders received a 9-1-1 call of a 14mon old toddler not breathing. According to arrest affidavits, Clay Allison initially told police that his son, 14mon old Ethan Allison had fallen from a height of about four inches, and hit his head. But doctors at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma say the boys injuries didnt add up. Thats when Durant police began to investigate. My understanding is that the Durant police department was made aware of a child that was presented to the Medical Center of Southeastern OKlahoma here with severe head injury says Emily Redman, Bryan County District Attorney When police conducted a search warrant of Clay Allisons home, They say they discovered someone had been doing online searches for head injuries and symptoms of a coma. When Allison was questioned again, police say he admitted that the injury sustained by his son Ethan was not from an accidental fall. Allison admitted that the child repeatedly asked him to play, and when the father became irritated he pulled young Ethan off his feet. The father described how the back of his sons head hit the tile floor with a lot of force and made a loud noise when the skull impacted the floor. He later told investigators that the child became unresponsive, but was still breathing. The boy later died at Childrens hospital in Dallas from an acute traumatic brain injury. Any allegation of unreasonable force used upon a child we take that very seriously, we work these cases in a multi disciplinary approach, says Redman Allisons neighbors say theyre shocked by the charges. They say he was a good father, always looking after young Ethan. He was a good fella...He always seemed to take good care of his kid...We would watch him put him in his car seat every time, and he put him in his trunk. I didnt see where he bothered anyone... There was never any noise... Clay Allison was arrested in Pushmataha County for first degree murder and child abuse of Ethan Allison. If hes convicted, he could face the death penalty. The range of punishment or possibilities of punishment in this case could be life in prison or life in prison without the possibility of parole and in some instances, the death penalty. Allison is being held in the Bryan County jail without bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 18th.
