EURO Brazil and Mexico call for investigation into US spying claims Reaction in Brazil and Mexico has been one of indignation and anger after a Brazilian news report on Sunday accused the US National Security Agency of having spied on their presidents. The allegations originated from secret files obtained from US whistle-blower Edward Snowden. The agency is said to have intercepted internet data. Brazil’s Foreign Minister Luiz Figueiredo made a statement saying he had already begun contacting various countries including BRIC members – Brazil, Russia, India and China – in order to discuss the matter because his government believed it could involve all of them.
