EUROGAMER EXPO 2014 NEWS: This years Eurogamer Expo may not - TopicsExpress

EUROGAMER EXPO 2014 NEWS: This years Eurogamer Expo may not have been as exciting as last years Expo and was a more humble event - a bit on the quiet side. Many of the games were close to release with the exception of a handful. We feel that Nintendo and Sony had the most exciting titles to offer, while Microsoft mostly had Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2 as their main highlights. NVIDIAs Shield also made an appearance with their own fancy booth. The show floor had Nintendo taking up the front, while the two giants dominated the rest, divided either side - Microsoft on the left with Activision and Sony on the right. It was like a battleground face-off between two armies or when Moses split the Seas (with Gods help of course). There were also a lot of indie booths scattered around and a few areas for PCs. The Retro zone was particularly enticing with consoles dating all the way back to Atari, Spectrum and Commodore. Upstairs was a bit more chilled and dominated by Ubisoft, as well as multi-platform titles and a dedicated Fight Zone playing host to classics like Street Fighter and alike. We did notice a severe lack of booth babes at the event, so no silicone this year!! What a shame, they always put a smile on our faces - oh dear! I did get talking to a cute chick who worked at the Nintendo Booth though, but I seem to have already forgotten her name! And no it wasnt Princess Peach!! MULTI-PLATFORM: There were also many multi-platform games like FIFA 15, Far Cry 4, Assassins Creed Unity, Alien: Isolation, The Evil Within, Shadow of Mordor, Dead Island 2, Battlefield: Hardline, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Batman: Arkham Knight and more. Project Cars looked really exciting with gorgeous graphics, physics and gameplay, far outstripping the long awaited DriveClub. I also got into quite a conversation with the developers of Alien: Isolation at Sonys humongous booth - they were very helpful and passionate about their game, as well as very polite and welcoming.. unlike some people - errr hmmm.. Micro..uh hmmm ...so ..ft. Well follow up this story with more articles and videos. In the mean time, check out our cool photos of the show floor.
